Danny Cote had been driving plow for the town for nine days when he took the wrong turn onto Cold Harbor Road. The road had not been plowed since the bridge went out, and the snow on it was up to the headlights. He dropped the blade to turn around and hit something that rang like a bell. It was the roof of a car. When he dug down to the driver’s window, he saw a pair of fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, faded almost white, and a Massachusetts inspection sticker from 1996.
